Not eligible: Employees of commercial entities that supply products or services to the zoological community unless employed by a Commercial Member. If employed by a Commercial Member, the eligible category is Professional Affiliate.

Membership Details

• Memberships are based on the calendar year and expire December 31, 2026

Eligibility

For purposes of definition, management-level employees are those in a leadership level who have decision-making and directly influence the operations, planning, purposes, and goals of their organization.

• Management-level employees at AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums
• Management-level employees at Certified Related Facilities
• Management-level employees at Conservation Partners (supporting zoo/aquarium society organization)

Verification Required: Employment and management capacity must be verified by Director/CEO for membership approval.

Not eligible: Employees of companies or self-employed consultants that provide products or services to the industry unless employed by a Commercial Member. Employees of Commercial Members may not hold Professional Fellow membership. If employed by a Commercial Member, the eligible category is Professional Affiliate.

Membership Details

• Professional Fellow members help shape association policy by voting in AZA elections and are eligible to chair AZA committees and be considered to serve on the Ethics Board or Board of Directors
• Memberships are based on the calendar year and expire December 31, 2026
• Current AZA members seeking to reinstate or upgrade should contact AZA Member Services directly
• Annual Conference attendees must join at the full dues rate
